Did you know that light coffee beans has more caffeine
than dark ones?
Unfortunately,
many people perceive that darker coffee beans has more caffeine than lighter
ones due to the color assumption, the darker the bolder! They also think that darker
coffee beans has a stronger after taste as a result of misleading them to
believe that the more bitter the coffee the stronger it is.
Truth is...
" When coffee beans
are roasted, the beans undergo a series of physical changes including growing
in size, becoming lighter in weight but also burning off some caffeine. The
longer the beans are roasted (the darker the beans), in general, the less
caffeine they will have solely due to them having more and more caffeine being

I almost never perceived that the decaffeine is better or not. But since I started drinking coffee everyday, I just have been trying to choose decaffeine more. Actually the taste doesn't have big difference for me. But caffeine can lead to physical and mental conditions including nervousness and irritability. So, thank you for good information!

ReplyDeleteI just learned about the level of caffeine in coffee beans last year when Starbucks came out with the "Green coffee". I'm glad to know this fact because not only can have my caffeine fix, but it tastes better . Yay! This is info that definitely needs to be shared. :)

Upon finding this information about coffee beans being roasted, are there any other things that are affected aside more or less caffeine in the bean?

ReplyDeleteThis is very intersting information. Starbucks and coffee companies have been on a constant rise since the economic crisis. More of society is working more and sleeping less, thus resorting to coffee to keep them awake and alert through their busy days. I believe that this is a great market to get into right now and the information that you guys are providing is a wonderful way to get customers attached on a more personal level.
